About Us
Mission Statement
The purpose of this Association shall be to advance the Kingdom of God through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This Association shall assist member churches in reaching their communities for Jesus Christ, and to help stimulate church growth and development.
Staff
Director of Missions
Tony Rutherford
Tony began serving as Director of Missions in April 2011.
Tony is a native of Sweetwater, Tennessee. He was born in 1952 and has over thirty years of pastoral service. He has served in six associations in various capacities throughout his ministry and has served on the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
Tony graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1971, before serving his country from 1972-1974 in the United States Army. He is a 1982 graduate of Carson-Newman College and a 1986 graduate from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, with a Master of Divinity degree. Tony was married to Darnell Gray in 1975. They have two grown children, Justin and Jana, and one grandchild.
Administrative Assistant
Sheri Stephens
Sheri has served as Administrative Assistant since 1992.
She is a member of Notchey Creek Baptist Church.
Secretary
Becky Jones
Becky has served as the associational secretary since 2008.
She is a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.
